Kimani wa Wanjiru

I have worked in various capacities in the mainstream media— print and broadcasting, alternative or emerging media— the Internet and folk media as a journalist, editor, editing children’s books, editing policy papers, researcher, scriptwriter and presenter of various radio programs, art critic and media consultant.
As a Public Relations Consultant, I have worked for both- profit and non-profit making organizations. I have prepared comprehensive Media Plans, Press Releases, developed interesting story ideas and angles that have all been well accepted in the various media houses and proved to be very useful for the client.
I have vast experience working with Non Governmental Organizations that are involved in human rights, culture and the arts, women and children’s rights and health issues particularly HIV/AIDS.
Prior to joining the mainstream media, I worked as a folk media expert. I worked as an actor, researcher and animator with communication companies that use Participatory/Interactive Theater and Folk Media concepts to design and execute community educational, mobilization and development programs for civic rights awareness, children's rights, reproductive health, advocacy, gender sensitization, human rights and rehabilitation of street persons.
I am also an artist and I have excelled as a scriptwriter, playwright, an actor, published poet and theater director.
